Goldcar Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2008 and 31-Dec-2008CAR HIRE REGULATIONS 1) Minimum Rental: The minimum rental is 3 days 2) Extras: Baby seat: If the baby seat is returned in the same condition as supplied we refund the deposit charged. For security reasons, baby seats must be fitted by the parent or guardian. All additional drivers: Maximum: 3 additional drivers per contract. A minimum charge of 30 Euros will be applied if the returned car requires extra special cleaning No charge for: Roof-racks: not available any longer One-way rentals mainland (Goldcar offices) 3) Petrol: The vehicles are delivered with a full tank of petrol. Full tank values pre-payable, between 40 € and 100 € according to supplied model. Cars should be returned with an empty tank. As you are aware our fuel policy is full/empty with no refunds on unused fuel. The exception to this rule is for hire periods of 3 days or less when we credit the client's credit card with the equivalent value of the fuel left in the tank. 4) Insurance: The insurance is fully comprehensive, but replacement keys, undercarriage, traffic fines, all expenses and costs that arise from refueling with the incorrect fuel and tyres or wheels are not covered under insurance. In case of damage the hirer is liable for such items. All thefts must be reported to the police and a copy of the report obtained. Personal effects cover is not included and we recommend your clients to ensure that these are covered by their travel insurance. If clients load the car with more than the stated capacity or vehicles are taken “off-road” or drivers are found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the insurance cover becomes invalid. In case of accident or collision client must fill up correctly the provided form (declaración amistosa de accidente de automóvil). For some exceptions, please see paragraph number 10) We offer customers an optional protection of 17€ per rental, to be paid on arrival, to reduce their liability to wheels and tyres. Towing costs or any other expenses are not covered under this insurance. If the customer declines this insurance he will be liable for damages caused to tyres and wheels. VERY IMPORTANT: Late return will be penalised: 20 euros per day + daily rental rate (if not properly extended) 5) Age Limits: Drivers must be over 21 years and have held a driving licence (international driving license) for a minimum of 12 months. No maximum age restriction or surcharge. Drivers must be in possession of a valid credit card (Master Card, VISA Card or EC Card) or debit card. American Express Cards are not accepted. No cash payment accepted either. We have always been very flexible, accepting cash payments, but unfortunately due to increased car theft we consider it necessary to take this action. We also inform you that we will only accept credit or debit card payment for cars, fuel and any other local charges by the named principal drivers using credit cards bearing their own names. 6) Free sell: Free Sell Vehicles (Groups AA, BB, CC, D, F, R, S, L and LL)
Cars are on free sell basis with exception of the “special” groups X, E, DD, FF, G, I, J, K,M, P and PP which are only on request. Specified details on all car groups you can find on the price-list. A/C = air conditioning – FULL EQUIPPED = power steering, electric windows, air bags. DIESEL CARS ARE AVAILABLE, NORMALLY AT AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF 2 EUROS PER DAY, BUT CAN NEVER BE CONFIRMED TO THE CLIENT. If the client wants to hire a diesel car he should ask for it on arrival. WE DO NOT ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO REMOVE SEATS FROM OUR PEOPLE CARRIERS. All rental period extensions for these vehicles normally can be made without prior notice. However, during “Stop Sale” periods, prior agreement from Goldcar must be obtained. Special Vehicles (All Other Groups) As all special vehicles are on request, the hire contract cannot be extended without prior notice and agreement with Goldcar. All Vehicle Groups All clients who want to extend their rental period must always go to the nearest Goldcar office to extend the contract document. At the same time, if a “pay on arrival” extension, the client must also sign the credit card slip for the cost of the extension. No contract can be extended by telephone. If the hire contract cannot be extended because of vehicle non-availability for whatever reason, the client MUST return the car by the agreed time and date. Failure to meet this requirement will invalidate the vehicle insurance and also subject the client to cancellation charges. Clients who return their cars later than the specified return time will be penalised at 20 Euros per day/part day. Additionally they will incur a daily rental rate if the contract is not properly extended. 7) One way rentals: There are no additional charges for one-way rentals in mainland Spain or Majorca. All groups can be used for one-way rentals. One way rentals: minimum rental 3 days. 8) Deliveries:
No deliveries in any area (mainland and Mallorca) to hotels or any other arbitrary location. We will only provide cars for the clients at our airport locations and down town offices. 9) Cross Border Policy: Cars can be driven only to Portugal and Gibraltar at no additional charge. Clients are not allowed to drive Gold Car car’s to other foreign countries. Clients arriving at Gerona or Reus airport are allowed to drive into France and Andorra. They will be charged an additional fee for the entire rental on arrival for insurance. 10) Christmas Eve: All our branch offices and airport offices will be closed on Christmas Eve from 20.00 hours onwards. Please do not send reservations with collection after 20.00 hours. 11) Cancellation Policy
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
Cancellation 27 days + prior to pick-up date - 100 Euros
Cancellation 10 to 27 days prior to pick-up date - 20% of Gorss Rental + 100Euros, (minimum 250 Euros)
Cancellation less than 10 days prior to pick-up date - 50% of Gross Rental + 100 Euros Cancellation within 3 days of pick-up date, or no-show - 100% of Gross Rental
There is no refund for late pick up or early return of vehicle.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

After collecting their luggage at Seville airport, all clients must go to the meeting point in the Arrivals Hall. After collecting the luggage client must go through the automated doors where a Goldcar employee (he carries with him a Goldcar sign) will be waiting for the client and indicate how to get to our office. We provide the client with a car from our office (Goldcar minivan) situated at the public parking (second floor) on parking lot 343.
Please Note: From 15th Sept 2008 we will stop using the minivan in the car park at Valencia airport. Instead, we will provide the service to clients from our brand new office near the airport. A shuttle-bus with a Goldcar Logo on it will be provided from the airport to our office and vice versa.
After collecting their luggage, clients must go through the automated doors where a Goldcar employee, carrying a Goldcar sign, will be waiting. Clients will be told how to get to the Goldcar shuttle bus.
The bus stop will be on the 1st floor (Arrivals). Clients will be taken to our new rental office, from where they will collect their cars. Clients must also return their cars to the rental office, prior to being taken back to the airport. We will provide each client with a map showing how to return to our office.
